Privacy Policy

Your information. Your choices.

Current versionEffective

01. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled when you visit the Palete website or use the Palete meal planner app and related services.

Palete is operated by Mateus Henrique Campos de Souza, who is the controller of the personal data described here under art. 5, VI of Brazil's Law 13.709/2018 (LGPD) and art. 4(7) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). For any request under this policy, including the rights described below, write to contact@paletemealplannerapp.com.

This policy applies to information processed through the app, this website and communications with Palete. External services linked from Palete operate under their own privacy policies.

02. Information and purposes

Palete processes information you provide, information created as you use the Service and limited technical information needed to operate it. Depending on the features you use, this may include:

  • Account information: name, email address, authentication details and profile settings used to create and protect your account.
  • Meal-planning information: food preferences, goals, routines, recipes, meal records, shopping lists, budgets and other choices used to build and manage your plans.
  • Dietary information: allergies, restrictions and nutrition preferences you choose to provide so Palete can tailor its suggestions.
  • Support correspondence: messages and attachments you send when requesting help or exercising a privacy right.
  • Technical information: device type, operating system, app version, language, IP address, access logs, diagnostics and crash information used to deliver, secure and improve the Service.
  • Purchase information: subscription status and transaction identifiers received from the App Store. Palete does not receive your complete payment-card details from Apple.

Palete uses this information to provide meal-planning features, personalise your experience, maintain accounts, process entitlements, answer support requests, prevent abuse, diagnose errors, improve performance and comply with legal obligations.

04. Health and dietary data

Allergies, medical dietary restrictions, body measurements and some nutrition goals may qualify as sensitive personal data. Palete processes information of this kind only when you choose to provide it and when a valid legal basis applies, such as explicit consent.

Palete uses dietary information to support the meal-planning features you request. It is not used for third-party advertising or sold to data brokers. Palete does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment; consult a qualified professional about medical conditions, allergies or significant dietary changes.

05. Sharing and service providers

Palete does not sell your personal data. Information may be shared with service providers that support hosting, authentication, data storage, customer support, payments, security, diagnostics and app operation. These providers may process data only to perform their contracted services and under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

Apple processes App Store downloads, payments, subscriptions and refunds under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. Palete may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the Service, in connection with a corporate transaction, or when you direct or consent to the disclosure.

06. Cookies and tracking

The Palete landing page does not use advertising trackers or set its own marketing cookies. Its hosting provider may process IP addresses, request logs and strictly necessary technologies to deliver pages, prevent abuse and maintain security.

You can manage browser technologies through your browser and app permissions through your device settings. If Palete introduces optional analytics or advertising tracking that legally requires consent, it will request that choice before enabling the relevant technology.

07. Retention and deletion

Personal data is kept only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Retention depends on the type of information, whether your account remains active, the need to provide the Service, security and fraud-prevention needs, and legal, accounting or dispute-resolution obligations.

You may request account and personal-data deletion by writing to contact@paletemealplannerapp.com. Palete will delete or anonymise information when required, subject to lawful exceptions. Residual copies may remain temporarily in protected backups until they are overwritten. Uninstalling the app alone may not delete information associated with an account.

08. Security

Palete uses reasonable administrative, technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. Access is limited according to operational need, and service providers are selected with data protection in mind.

No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure. If a personal-data incident presents a legally reportable risk, Palete will notify the competent authority and affected users as required by applicable law.

09. International transfers

Service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. When personal data is transferred internationally, Palete uses measures required by applicable law, which may include contractual safeguards, adequacy decisions and technical or organisational protections.

You may contact Palete for information about the safeguards relevant to your personal data.

10. Your rights and choices

Subject to applicable law, you may request confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymisation, restriction, portability or deletion of personal data; information about sharing; review of certain automated decisions; objection to processing; and withdrawal of consent. Brazilian users may also petition Brazil's National Data Protection Authority (ANPD). Users in the European Economic Area may lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority.

Send requests to contact@paletemealplannerapp.com. Palete may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and protect your account before completing a request. Requests will be handled within the period required by applicable law.

11. Children’s privacy

Palete is not directed to children under 13. Users who have not reached the age at which they can consent to personal-data processing in their country must use the Service only with authorisation and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.

If Palete learns that a child's personal data was collected without the required authorisation, it will take reasonable steps to delete it. A parent or guardian may contact Palete using the email below.

12. Changes to this policy

Palete may update this policy to reflect changes to the Service, legal requirements or data practices. The effective date at the top will be updated when changes are published. Material changes will be communicated through the app, website, email or another appropriate channel.

Where a new use of personal data requires consent, Palete will request it before that processing begins.
